Authenticity
As a trusted jeweller we only use stones that are 100% natural. We do not use synthetic, created or treated stones (with the exception of Cubic Zirconia, which is a fully synthetic stone.) We only produce jewellery using solid gold, white gold and sterling silver. Solid metals ensure exceptionally high quality jewellery that lasts. We do not plate any of our items.
Accredited Appraisals
QP Jewellers offer accredited jewellery appraisals for all of our items at any time following your purchase, which show the independently valued retail price of each piece of jewellery. The appraisal value is calculated using current market data and thorough evaluation of all characteristics of the jewellery to be appraised. The cut, colour, clarity and weight of the gemstone is included. We offer appraisals to customers as certificates of authenticity. In the event of loss, theft or damage, your insurance company will offer an equal replacement. Exact appraisal values are also indicated throughout our web site.
Conflict-Free Diamonds
QP Jewellers do not - and will never - buy, sell, nor distribute conflict diamonds (also known as blood diamonds). "Conflict diamonds" is a term to describe diamonds that are sourced from areas controlled by insurgencies and forces that use the subsequent profits to operate illegal activities. All of our diamonds are sourced ethically and legitimately as part of our strict ethical policy in an on-going effort to help eliminate conflict diamonds from the supply chain.
14K (14 carat) Gold & White Gold
We use 14 carat gold and white gold for all gold jewellery. Pure gold is very soft and is easily damaged during daily wear, so it is alloyed with a mixture of different metals to increase its durability. Copper, silver, palladium and zinc are used to strengthen gold; the amount used in the alloying process denotes the purity of the gold. The weight of gold is typically formulated in "24ths". Our 14K gold is therefore 14 parts gold to 10 parts other metals. 14K is a highly sought-after equilibrium of strength, durability and purity: purer and similarly priced to 9K gold while almost aesthetically identical to 18K gold.
925 Sterling Silver
Pure silver, like gold, is very soft and easily damaged. To strengthen the silver we alloy it with other metals, giving added durability and protection. The most common silver alloy is sterling silver, which uses 7.5% copper and 92.5% silver. Hence, this is known as 925 Sterling Silver.
